6th International Tampere Plastic Surgery Fla
Tampere Flap Course is designed especially for plastic surgery residents as well as for more experienced plastic surgeons. It covers the most frequently used flaps and their modifications in free flap surgery. The course includes expert lectures and fresh cadaver dissections in the facilities of Tampere Surgical Education Centre
(TSEC). The lectures offer tips and tricks for the most versatile free flaps that cover the majority of reconstructive needs.
In addition to hands-on training, we also invite young surgeons to come and learn by observation! Observational track includes lectures (Wednesday) and one day of observation (Thursday) in the cadaver lab.

Thursday 1.12.2022 (Hands-on track, Observational track)
08:00 - 12:00 Cadaveric dissections, session 1: The participants will be raising Latissimus dorsi flaps, scapula, and optionally serratus
fascia/muscle, parascapular flaps, trapezius muscle and lumbar artery perforator flaps.
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 16:00 Cadaveric dissections, session 2: The participants will be raising DIEP / ms-TRAM flaps, SIAE flaps, and optionally, lymph node transfer with groin flap / SIEA flap / SCIP flap. Also, the participants will get to practice the exposure of internal mammary vessels for microvascular anastomosis with/without cartilage removal.

Friday 2.12.2022 (Hands-on track only)
08:00 - 12:00 Cadaveric dissections, session 3: The participants will be raising ALT, TFL, Vastus lateralis, gracilis muscle / TMG flaps. The participants can also practice raising rectus femoris and Sartorius flaps.
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 15:30 Cadaveric dissections, session 4: The participants will be raising fibula flaps with/without muscle and skin. Also, the participants will get to practice the most common exposures of the lower extremity for microvascular anastomosis and raising propeller flaps.
